GSE Over-Speed Monitoring Module

In today's busy airport environment, with the ever-increasing pressure to improve turnaround times due to limited slots, every second counts on the ramp. Everyone knows that ramp safety is paramount - but there is always the risk that corners will be cut, and basic airport safety could be jeopardised as simple rules and regulations, such as speed limits, are ignored in an attempt to save time. As an add-on to our VTIS fleet management system, v-SPEED is a speed monitoring module suitable for all types of motorised Ground Support Equipment. When the system is set up, a speed threshold is set via software - this threshold can be different for each individual GSE, or can be set a certain level for each family of equipment.  
v-speed GPS (Global Positioning System) Using advanced GPS (Global Positioning System) measurement technology, v-SPEED constantly monitors vehicle speed. As soon as the threshold is exceeded, v-SPEED transmits an alert message, containing the actual speed recorded, location, date, time and GSE fleet number. If the GSE is also equipped with our v-LOCK system, the identity of the driver will also be included.

This alert message can be transmitted directly to key staff on the ramp or in the control room, via an SMS/text message or as an email. Alternatively, if you are using our v-TRACK mapping system, the alert message can appear as a flag on the map showing the location of the over-speed event and other key data. If you don't need real-time notification of over-speed events, all data can be stored and sent to you regularly in the form of an Excel spreadsheet or alternatively can be viewed on-line via our v-DASH or v-VIEW reporting systems.
